What will this qualification lead to?
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare all students for employment in the advanced therapy process of Enhancing Eyebrows with Microblading Techniques. Students will be fully accredited to carry out microblading procedures.
Who supports this qualification?
This qualification has been developed collaboratively with employers and professional associations and key stakeholders in the advanced therapies sector. This qualification is formally supported British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) by Vanilla Pod Beauty, Changes clinic of Excellence and Elements Medispa.
This qualification will be assessed by an internally assessed portfolio of evidence (case studies) and an externally set examination. All assessment criteria in the five mandatory units must be evidenced to achieve this qualification.
Students are required to produce evidence of 10 case studies to be completed over a 6-month period following the practical and theory training with Cosmaesthetics. Case studies will be sent to the tutor for review who will verify that best practice is being adhered to and review your progression in terms of skill level. Students are also required to complete an assessment covering the five mandatory units. upon completion of the 10 case studies and assessment booklet, students will then return to the academy to undergo both a practical assessment (microblading on a live model) and an online test.
Day 1 (Theory day)
On this day we teach all the theory concerned with microblading. The learner is registered and to help understand how to undertake the overall course content and course work set: by VTCT as home study.
Day 2 (Practical Day)
Student's are taught how to effectively microblade on a live model.
Having completed 1-2 microblading treatments on models independently, the student will return to the academy and be shadowed by the tutor whilst carrying out their third microblading treatment.
Day 4 - 5
The student will return to the academy after having completed another 2 microblading treatments independently and again be shadowed by the tutor and be supported to improve technique.
Once the course work and case studies have been completed the learner will then return to complete practical assessments and complete an end test before the qualification is complete.

In order to complete this course the learner is expected to complete course work based on the 5 units above; Complete 10 case studies (before & after pictures and a written reflection for each); be assessed practically conducting three separate microblading treatments and sit an exam.
The learner will be expected to attend the academy on three occasions whilst undertaking the conversion course.

Cosmaesthetics training courses follow the National Occupational Standards set out by HABIA and are validated by Insync Insurance. Cosmaesthetics offer two different accredited courses with both ABT Associated Beauty Therapists and VTCT.
